European multimodal solutions provider Samskip Multimodal B.V. and Intercombi (ICL) Transport, a subsidiary of the leading logistics company Turkey Netlog Logistics Group as limited partners have launched the joint initiative GreenBridge C.V., offering high frequency connections between Turkey and Europe.

Samskip Multimodal and Intercombi are pleased to introduce GreenBridge C.V., a joint initiative delivering multimodal services between Europe and Turkey.

Initially GreenBridge will offer three block trains per week linking the Samskip Multimodal rail terminal in Duisburg (DE) to the Port of Trieste (IT), for on-connection to ships operating between Trieste and Istanbul. The company expects the block train service frequency to increase to five departures a week in the near future.

GreenBridge services will connect Turkey to most European destinations, offering customers substantial advantages over conventional (road) transport that include faster transit times, the elimination of border delays, traffic jams and road taxation, and lower fuel costs. In addition, the multimodal solution delivers the reliability of large guaranteed capacity, significantly lower CO2 emissions and greater flexibility on equipment selection up to and including 45ft containers and trailers….
